The breed is used primarily as a hunting dog in
Afghanistan. Because the dogs can outdistance the horses the Afghan
Hounds hunt on their own with out any direction from the hunters.

deer, Antelopes, Wolves, Jackals and Snow Leopards.

Afghan hounds can run at speeds of at least 35-40 m.p.h.

Afghans can come in almost any color.

The Afghan Hound first appeared in the United States in
1926.
